We're looking for an energetic, passionate, and talented Baker to join our farmshop & kitchen team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about baking, great ingredients, seasonal produce and creating delicious food from scratch, and who wants to play an important role in shaping the bakery offering within our farmshop.

Working closely with our Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you'll take responsibility for producing a range of fresh, high-quality breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods for our farmshop and kitchen. You'll have the opportunity to make the most of seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, including produce from our very own farm, while helping us create products that our customers love.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing, mixing, shaping, proving and baking a range of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods.
  • Producing fresh bakery items to a consistently high standard, following recipes and agreed specifications.
  • Taking responsibility for the daily bakery production, ensuring products are ready when needed for the farmshop and kitchen.
  • Working with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, including produce from our own farm where available.
  • Making the most of seasonal produce to create interesting and exciting baked goods throughout the year.
  • Preparing and weighing ingredients accurately and ensuring recipes are followed consistently.
  • Operating ovens, mixers, proofers and other bakery equipment safely and effectively.
  • Monitoring baking times, temperatures, proving and product quality throughout the production process.
  • Finishing, decorating and presenting baked products to a high standard.
  • Contributing ideas for new products, seasonal specials and ways to make the most of surplus or seasonal ingredients.
  • Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to coordinate bakery production with the needs of the restaurant and farmshop.
  • Ensuring finished products are correctly stored, labelled and presented for sale or service.
  • Supporting stock control, including checking ingredients, rotating stock and minimising waste.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen control throughout the bakery process.
  • Keeping the bakery and all equipment clean, organised and in excellent working order.
  • Recording relevant production, temperature and food safety checks.
  • Working efficiently to meet daily production requirements while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Supporting the wider kitchen team when required and contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment.


What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a Baker, Pastry Chef, Bakery Chef or in a similar professional bakery/kitchen environment.
  • A genuine passion for baking and creating high-quality products from scratch.
  • Good knowledge of bread, pastry, cakes and general bakery production.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing consistently excellent products.
  • Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, weighing, mixing, proving and baking processes.
  • Confidence using professional bakery equipment, including ovens and mixers.
  • A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage your time effectively to meet daily production requirements.
  • Someone who enjoys working with seasonal ingredients and experimenting with new flavours and products.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for local food, farming and sustainable production.
  • Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is happy to support the wider kitchen operation.
  • A creative, positive and hands-on approach with the drive to make our bakery offering something special.
